The University of Pretoria’s Women in Law Society began with a dream to build a place where women found a space to belong, be valued, and grow. At our core is the principle of being “a legal society for women, by women, with women and for all gender spectrums.”
When people hear that you have been appointed as a Director, the first thing they usually say is, "Congratulations!"
And while I am immensely grateful, I have realised over the past month that being entrusted as a Director isn't really about the title but rather about the responsibility that comes with it.
"I completed my LLB at the University of Pretoria in 2025. I started my PVT contract in January 2026 at a civil law firm."
"I chose GLR to complete law school because when I was doing vacation work, every candidate attorney and newly admitted attorney told me that this would be the best decision going forward. For me, there was really never another option.

"I have always had a passion for working with people, which led me to pursue a degree in Journalism, graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism from Rhodes University in 2014. Thereafter, I worked in the news industry for organisations including the SABC, News24, and Eyewitness News.
The idea of appearing in court can be intimidating for anyone. For children, however, the experience can be particularly overwhelming. Court proceedings often involve unfamiliar environments, complex legal language, and emotionally difficult situations. This is why South African law places significant emphasis on ensuring that when children testify in court, they are treated with care, dignity, and respect.
In an increasingly interconnected world, legal systems no longer operate in isolation. Countries engage with one another through trade, diplomacy, human rights agreements, environmental commitments, and international organisations. At the centre of these interactions is public international law, a body of legal principles and rules that governs relationships between states and other international actors.

I work in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and strong organisational skills. I’ve been with my firm for over a year, and every day continues to teach me something new.
