More and more institutions rely on paralegals to render support services in the field of law and commerce. The responsibility that rests on the shoulders of the paralegal or legal assistant has increased significantly over the past few years, creating a need for thorough training.
This course focuses on the basic legal skills that paralegals need to work with confidence within the field of debt collection.
It will empower the paralegal to provide support functions in law firms, legal advice offices and other debt collection entities in the commercial sector. Paralegals will acquire the skills and confidence necessary to initiate and complete a debt collection independently.
Introduction to civil litigation: There is a 2-hour 'Introduction to civil litigation' course. It is a prerequisite for those who have no exposure to debt collection or no prior knowledge of civil litigation and procedure (see registration page).

Attorneys and candidate attorneys.
Those who want to advance to the following roles: debt reviewer, counsellor, collector, recoveries or collections clerk, or collections assistant.
The course is presented online over 4 hours on 2 mornings, from 08:00–12:00.
Lectures can be attended either online or by obtaining recordings. Recordings can be viewed at any time of the day.
The presentation is accompanied by a comprehensive reference manual.
The material is presented in an interactive format. Paralegals (legal assistants) need to complete an evaluation to qualify to receive a certificate. Attorneys and candidate attorneys do not have to complete the evaluation.
You’ll be able to perform legal functions and assistance to a legal practitioner in debt collection.
