About Christine

"I finished my LLB last year and got my degree this year in May.  I am currently studying full-time for the board exams in August as I'm planning to pass everything at once."

On enrolling at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law

"I completed my LLB degree at Akademia, where I attended a career expo.  Gawie le Roux Institute of Law was there and told me about my options."

400-hour vs 150-hour PVT programme of structured course work

"At that time, I hadn't secured articles yet.  After praying about it, I felt that the 400-hour course was the right thing for me."

The mock trial

"It was a fun experience, and I would definitely recommend doing it."

Christine's tips for PVT students

"Stay up to date.  Once you leave the course work for the last minute, life can overwhelm you, and you can miss tasks."

On balance

"While you may be prioritising family and personal growth, there has to be a balance.  You can't prioritise one over the other; otherwise, burnout will occur.

I like reading books in my spare time, learning a new skill, or spending time with family."

What's next?

"Once I'm done with the board exams, I will start looking for a job, and if the opportunity presents itself, take the conveyancing exam."
