About Michael

"I completed my LLB at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (as it then was) in 2013, whereafter I enrolled and completed my PLT (now PVT) course, with distinction, in 2015.

I have been the managing director of Michael Cherry Attorneys Inc. since 2020 to date."

Background

Michael Anthony Cherry was a top achiever at our recent awards ceremony for alumni who excelled in the LPC exams.

On Gawie le Roux's Course in notarial practice

"I researched the GLR website after having received excellent feedback from colleagues in the legal fraternity.  Subsequent thereto, I opted for the recorded lectures study option provided by Gawie le Roux Institute of Law, which enabled me to work through the course content at a time that was suitable and operationally viable.  The course content is presented in a user-friendly and coherent manner, which assists in navigating the voluminous scope.  It is therefore a critical component in exam preparation."

Michael's study tips for the notarial exam

"Afford sufficient preparation time to work through the course content and practical examples.  Being mindful of the time for answering the practical examples assists in the simulated time constraints experienced during the examination.  The GLR notarial course content provides a solid foundation for one’s preparation."

On the oral exam

"Viewing the oral examination as an opportunity, as opposed to being demotivated and discouraged, will place one in good stead.  Review the course content aloud to build confidence and fluency in answering the questions posed in the oral examination."

"There is no secret formula; preparation and application are vital."

A final word

"Emphasising practical application of the course content assists in building one’s confidence.  The GLR course content offers a structured approach to managing the scope of the examination, which contributes to feeling motivated and exam-ready.  While the challenges of the examination should not be underestimated, with proper preparation and the invaluable guidance of the GLR Institute of Law, it is achievable."
