Elsha's study tips for the oral exam
- "The content is vast, and the volume can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t have prior experience or exposure. That’s why it’s so important to start working through your notes months in advance to build your understanding and lighten the revision ‘load’ for the oral exams.
- I approached it by setting a clear plan and breaking the material into manageable goals – ‘chewing the elephant piece by piece’. You may not always stick to the plan, but this does help you have consistency.
- Study all your notes again together with your question papers and the relevant Acts! Make a point to consider alternative scenarios for the content as well and think about where else it could apply.
- And perhaps the most crucial part – don’t hesitate to ask if you’re unsure about something. Reaching out for clarity can make all the difference.
- Having a network of positive influences – whether it was family, friends or colleagues – makes a huge difference in keeping you grounded and motivated."
