We recently hosted a virtual Gawie le Roux Institute of Law Awards Ceremony to celebrate the success of those of you who passed an LPC exam
in the first semester of 2024.

The top achievers walked away with Gawie le Roux vouchers which they can spend on any of our courses, workshops, and webinars.

Here are some of the top achievers around the country who entered.

Ahmed Seedat, attorneys' admission exam

Ahmed Seedat graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a double major in both legal and political studies in 2019 and further completed his specialised LLB degree in 2021. During his studies, Ahmed garnered numerous accolades, including multiple Dean's List awards and a distinguished first-class award certification.
In 2023, he became a candidate attorney at Tuckers Attorneys (Boksburg branch) to complete his practical vocational training.
In the same year and in pursuit of his attorneys' admission exam, he obtained one of the highest mean average results in the country after having written papers 1, 2,
and 4. Ahmed has now passed paper 3 as well.
Ahmed specialises in civil litigation, criminal law, and commercial law.

Clarize Rheeder, attorneys' admission exam

"I am a dedicated candidate attorney at De Jager Attorneys Incorporated in Little Falls, Roodepoort, having joined the firm in 2023. I have a BCom Law degree and passed my LLB cum laude in 2022. I have a strong commitment to legal excellence, having tackled papers 1 and 4 in March and papers 2 and 3 in August.
My professional journey has been greatly enriched by the guidance of Johan van Stade, whose classes have been instrumental in my development. I highly recommend the classes of Gawie le Roux for their exceptional contribution to my legal education. With a focus on continuous learning and professional growth, I am poised to make a significant impact in the legal field."

Siziphiwe Elaine Ngcobo, attorneys' admission exam

"I am currently a second-year candidate legal practitioner completing my articles in the commercial department at DKVG Attorneys. In tandem with my practical training, I am pursuing a Masters degree in Corporate Law, which I believe complements my hands-on experience and deepens my understanding of the legal intricacies in the corporate world.
In March, I undertook the attorneys' admission exam, successfully passing all four on my first attempt. Achieving this personal milestone required unwavering dedication, countless late nights, and strategic preparation. The courses from the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law played a pivotal role in this accomplishment, as they offered comprehensive and detailed materials filled with practical examples. These resources enabled me to create comprehensive notes and approach the exam with confidence.
More recently, I sat for the notarial exam, once again relying on the meticulously crafted study materials from the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, with the ultimate aim of making a significant impact in the field of corporate and commercial law."

Shafeeqah Cassim, notarial practice exam

Shafeeqah is an admitted attorney, notary, and conveyancer. She is currently employed in the conveyancing department at STBB Attorneys as an associate.
Her passion lies in property law and commercial law (having obtained her LLM in 2020 at UCT). While Shafeeqah enjoys and is passionate about learning, she believes that having a balanced lifestyle is key to becoming successful.

Natasha du Preez, attorneys' admission exam

"I obtained my LLB degree in December 2021 and I am currently employed at Burger Huyser Attorneys as a candidate attorney (awaiting admission). In March, I wrote and passed all four papers of the competency-based exam, on the first attempt, with the guidance of the Gawie le Roux classes and notes for paper 1 and paper 3.
I achieved two distinctions, one subject above 70%, and passed the ethics paper.
I enjoy cyber law, family law, and general litigation. My ultimate goal is to pursue cyber law in the future and to address the growing concerns accompanying the growing cyber sphere.
I am tenacious and hardworking and I believe that self-growth is an important factor in one’s personal development. I am passionate, and I strive to be successful on my own merits and terms."

Liné Louw, attorneys' admission exam

"I have a drive to succeed in all spheres of life.
I recently had to undergo an unexpected emergency surgery whilst 35 weeks pregnant and wrote my last board exam two weeks later. If you ever doubt how far you can go keep showing up for yourself even if you crawl over that finish line. Anything is possible. I am grateful to Gawie le Roux and his great courses that have assisted me in completing my board exam."

Yvette Kotzee, conveyancing exam

"I obtained a BCom Law degree in 2017 and an LLB degree in 2019, both from North-West University (NWU). In April 2022, I was admitted as an attorney, and in August 2023, I was admitted as a Notary Public. I am currently practising in these capacities at Bouwer & Olivier Inc., where I also commenced and completed my articles. My decision to pursue a career in conveyancing followed my successful completion of the notarial practice exam in April 2023. Despite having no prior experience in conveyancing, the notarial exam sparked my interest in title deeds and the underlying legal theory, motivating me to embark on this new journey. I am pleased to share that I passed the conveyancing examination on my first attempt. I recommend ensuring a thorough understanding of the content, attending the exam preparation workshop, and not hesitating to ask questions. Additionally, practising drafting and working through previous examination papers under exam conditions can significantly enhance your readiness."
