The new rules of cross-examination

Cross-examine like a virtuoso

Cross-examination is no longer a defensive manoeuvre in the courtroom.  The new rules of cross-examination presents an offensive series of tactics specifically designed to enhance the cross-examiner’s theory of the case.

In this course, we will provide you with practical tips and instructive real-life examples to learn straightforward, effective techniques to maximise the fact-finder’s perception, minimise evasion by the witness, and control the runaway witness during cross-examination.

After completing this course, you will look forward to your next cross-examination in anticipation and not trepidation.  You will learn to construct persuasive cross-examinations through the chapter method and the techniques of primacy and recency, to effortlessly use the advanced techniques of looping and trilogies, and to integrate the principles of persuasion into your cross-examination to enable you to persuade the fact-finder in real-time.  We’ll also examine the cross-examiner’s role, not as an advocate, but as the teacher of the facts in the courtroom.
